Giuseppe “Discipline” Cain is a murderer who is literally terrorizing the city of Philadelphia. Discipline is frustrating the police department because he seems to always be two steps ahead of them. Enter Detective Aaden Bravo. Detective Bravo is well respected and has an exceptional clearance rate. But when Detective Christian Bennett is transferred to the homicide division, Aaden isn’t so sure about Christian being his partner. Christian is a womanizer and Aaden is focused on the job. Will they be able to work together before Discipline claims his next victim?


Revenge, murder, and mayhem is what you’ll find in Discipline by Marc Avery. Avery did a good job of crafting a well-rounded murder mystery that will delight readers. What’s interesting about this story is that each character has their personal demons that they are fighting. Discipline is full of action and plot twists that makes this a thrilling read. Hopefully, this is the start of an exciting new series by Marc Avery.

  5 out of 5 books I fell in love with Denny S. Bryce’s writing with her first book, Wild Women and the Blues. I absolutely love historical fiction, so I was eager to read In the Face of the Sun. Ba-byyyy, it did not disappoint! In the Face of the Sun is a dual timeline novel, switching between Los Angeles (Daisy - 1928) and Chicago (Frankie - 1968). Daisy's had a hard life, and it shows, as her personality completely changes between the timelines. Back in 1928, she was a hardworking, honest person that cared about her family and friends. In 1968, she’s drinking, smoking, and doing the absolute most, a complete opposite of sweet innocent Daisy. Frankie’s life isn’t peaches and cream, she’s pregnant and escaping her abusive husband.
