NEW REVIEW: Sasha Campbell - Scandals

Scandals -

3 out of 5 books -

Monica Houston had it all: a big beautiful house, two beautiful kids and a sexy and wealthy husband. Monica wanted for nothing. She never had to worry about bills or buying anything she saw at the store because money was never an issue. After her divorce and her ex doing nothing but the minimum child support, Monica finds herself at a crossroads. What can she possibly do to make ends meet? She knows that it is going to take some time to finish school, which she is currently enrolled in; but in the meantime, what can she do. When her best friend suggests that she become an exotic dancer, Monica slowly wraps her mind around the idea.

When she becomes a dancer at Scandalous, she meets the baddest dancer there, Robin Wright a.k.a. Treasure, and the two quickly becomes friends. Robin is the type of chick that makes no secret about how she makes her money. If a man is willing to play, than he is willing to pay and she knows she is great at what she does. After an unexpected surprise shows up at her door one day, she will have a hard decision to make that will ultimately change the way she is living.

Scandals by Sasha Campbell is a story of sex, lies and betrayal. It reminded me of a remixed version of a story that has been told time and time again in the book industry. I need for something to pop out to stand alone from the rest and unfortunately this book just did not do it for me. There were some minor editing issues, the time frame was unclear, there were quite a few gaps within the story, there were comparison to celebrities, and there was way too much sex. All-in-all, Scandals was an okay read at best.

NEW REVIEW: Sasha Campbell - Suspicions

SuspicionsSasha Campbell
Suspicions
Available Now!
3 out of 5 books

Suspicions by Sasha Campbell is the story of three women: Noelle, Tiffany and Candace. All three women share one thing...the man in their life has been keeping a secret.

Noelle is a beautiful full-figured woman who owns an upscale hair salon called "Situations." With a son away at college, this is the time where she should be relaxing and enjoying her time with her husband. But with an unexpected package left on her doorstep, that's all about to change. Noelle automatically assumes she knows the owner of this "package," but she will soon find out that she is totally wrong. With this unexpected gift, it causes a huge rift within her marriage. Will her marriage be able to survive when it's all said and done?

Tiffany is one of Noelle's stylists at "Situations." She is a 27-year-old woman that is engaged to be married to a sexy and rich man. Her gift to her husband-to-be is something sacred and precious. With the time looming nearer to the wedding date, Tiffany is eager to share it with him, but she's conflicted at the same time.

Candace is Tiffany's friend who is a single mom that works at the local health clinic around the way. Her baby daddy is still in love with her, yet she is tired of his deadbeat ways. When she lays eyes on the sexy new pedicurist Chauncey, she is instantly attracted to him. She thinks he may be a player and is determined to protect her heart at all costs. But could Chauncey be one of the good guys?

Suspicions by Sasha Campbell is a story of secrets and lies within relationships that go through ups and downs with the hopes of holding on. Suspicions is a drama filled story of anger, resentment, hurt and tears. Where the story falls short is that it's filled with too much drama. The fact that these were all grown women and not young girls, and how they acted towards the situations like they were totally in the dark was a hard pill to swallow. No way could an adult be that blinded by these situations. The story had twists, but they were predictable from the very beginning. All in all, Suspicions was an okay read.

Nikki Truth is a bookstore owner by day and a radio talk show host at night. Those seeking out relationship advice are quick to call into the show "Truth Hurts," wanting Nikki's blunt yet insightful advice. The only problem is that Nikki can't seem to take some of the advice she dishes out to her listeners. Her love life is in shambles. Her husband Donovan is over in Iraq and after receiving a letter from him, she feels as if her marriage is over. In trying to move on, she meets Kenyon, a widower that seems too good to be true. Everyone else tries to warn her about Kenyon, but she chalks everything they say up to rumors or hating.

Nikki's best friend, Trinette Montgomery is married to a wealthy CFO who seems to be out of town more than at home. Trinette is fine with this arrangement because it gives her time to indulge in extracurricular activities...all for monetary gain. Will Nikki realize that she is about to lose the best thing that ever happened to her before it is too late? Will she be able to let go of the demons of her past in order to learn to really trust and forgive?

Confessions by Sasha Campbell is a story of friendship, love, lust and lies. Confessions is a story of two friends who are going through their own problems with their husbands. One is trying to cope with the destruction of her marriage, and the other is thinking that she has her husband wrapped around her finger. Little do either of them realize…they are both wrong and that the truth does hurt. The story had a very slow start, but all-in-all, Confessions was a pretty good read.
