Risa James spent long hard years cementing herself as a talented professional behind the camera on her popular local television show, City Scenes.  Her determination and grit proved that she didn't have to rely on her model—perfect good looks to land major market interviews and stellar stories.  She had everything a busy young professional could have, except a love life. And how could she possibly have a love life without a man? JD Jones was a local boy done good. He lived a charmed life as an ex-professional football player and was a successful businessman.  He had everything a man of his stature could want, except a loving wife to share his dreams with and to walk beside him as he built his empire. When Risa and JD met, there was intense fire and passion, but was what they had more than just lust and passion?" Risa didn't seem to think so, but for her to get as close to JD as she needed to be—him being the only male child in a close-knit family of all sisters and a protective mother and father—she was going to have to be able to keep up with the Joneses in order to possibly become the next Mrs. Jones.

New Review : In the Face of the Sun : Denny S. Bryce

  5 out of 5 books I fell in love with Denny S. Bryce’s writing with her first book, Wild Women and the Blues. I absolutely love historical fiction, so I was eager to read In the Face of the Sun. Ba-byyyy, it did not disappoint! In the Face of the Sun is a dual timeline novel, switching between Los Angeles (Daisy - 1928) and Chicago (Frankie - 1968). Daisy's had a hard life, and it shows, as her personality completely changes between the timelines. Back in 1928, she was a hardworking, honest person that cared about her family and friends. In 1968, she’s drinking, smoking, and doing the absolute most, a complete opposite of sweet innocent Daisy. Frankie’s life isn’t peaches and cream, she’s pregnant and escaping her abusive husband. Her and her aunt Daisy pick up and head for L.A., for the adventure of a lifetime. You’ve got to read this book, I couldn’t put it down.
