Fifth generation pastor Samson Taylor is handsome, charming, and a dynamic preacher. He has one major flaw, and that is the fact that he's a womanizer. Even though he's married (to his best friend's ex-girlfriend), this is a trait he inherited from his father, who  inherited from his father, and so on. Samson tries his hardest to fight being like his father, but with all the beautiful and desperate women that are in his congregation, it is an extremely hard temptation to fight. Over time, he and his wife try to make it work, but neither are willing to compromise, and finally they end their marriage.

After ending his marriage, Samson decides to take some time off. Unfortunately for him, it is extremely short because something happens at the church that needs his immediate attention. Thinking he is getting over his lust for women, he meets Delinda. Delinda is married to a pro-basketball player and is very unhappy in her marriage. When Samson thinks he can handle his "demon," his skeletons start to come back to haunt him. When Samson has an encounter with Delinda's husband, he is left to deal with the consequences. Will he be able to live with what he has done and become the man that God wants him to be, or will he self-destruct?

Author Jacquelin Thomas has brought us the modern day story of Samson and Delilah. The storyline brings forth betrayal, anger, and salvation. This story has real life people with real life problems. I have always enjoyed Ms Thomas novels and how you can tell what scripture she uses to make her books stand out. You can tell the Lord is all through this book, and you quickly understand the issues that Samson is facing. Samson captures your attention from the moment you open up the book.
