The Shattered Glass Effect is a collaboration of fictional stories with each sharing the same theme: AIDS/HIV. In the very beginning of the book, there is a quote from an unknown source that really sums up each story: “Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.”
There are ten different stories featured in this anthology. They include: the adult entertainer and his many different sexual conquests; a young pregnant woman and her cheating boyfriend; keeping your friends close and your enemies closer; a sixteen-year old girl’s first time; a husband runs into someone from his past that may destroy his marriage; a friendship that may be ruined due to drugs; a woman that has trust issues with her boyfriend; a sister’s betrayal; a man that does not take his woman leaving him well and a girl strung out on drugs. Each story shows the results from their disastrous actions.
The Shattered Glass Effect is a powerful and emotional anthology! With AIDS being very prominent within the African American community, this anthology was greatly needed and will make you see how important it is to get tested. Although each story is fictional, they are very true-to-life tales. I am not really a fan of anthologies, but I have to say that this is the BEST anthology I have EVER read. I highly recommend The Shattered Glass Effect to all walks of life.

I read this book last year or early this year and absolutely loved it. I too gave it a 5, the stories were truly ones that touched my heart.
