4 out of 5 books

After doing an eight year bid in prison for murdering her grandmother, Helena “Lena” Hunter is finally free and is back home. Lena sees that adjusting to the outside world is harder than she ever imagined. She now has to try to build a relationship with her teen daughter. Lena is also trying to deal with family members that contributed to the events that led to her incarceration. On top of all of this, a fellow tenant named Aaron has his sights on Lena, but a relationship is the last thing on her mind. Will Aaron be able to get Lena to open her heart?

Jump is a thought-provoking novel by Terra Little. Little does an excellent job of character development with this story. Your heart really goes out to Lena as she tries to adjust to the outside world. This novel really shows the unfortunate consequences of when a victim takes matters into their own hands. When all of the details are revealed in what led Lena to murder her grandmother, readers will be in shock. Terra Little has further elevated her storytelling skills with Jump.
